Steel Stud Framer – Carpenter

 

As a Steel Stud Framer, you are a key member of our framing team and will be responsible for framing our projects. The Steel Stud Framers will work in a team of 4-6 framers to grow the business, and correctly launch all the projects. Our ideal candidates will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the trade with a Red Seal Carpentry Certificate or in progress of completing a certification. In this position, there is travel to job sites throughout our region, and transportation is available for the entire team meeting at the head office. Site Supervisor/Handyman

 

As the Site Supervisor/Handyman, you will oversee the finishing phase of the basement construction project (drywall to PDI), one site per week. With a lens on the project timelines and the overall customer satisfaction, you will be responsible for leading a sub-team responsible for one area of the project. When your phase begins you’ll be responsible for the safety of your team, and you will also monitor the progress of the project to make sure it will meet the deadline – and if that’s not going to be possible – solutions around that. You’ll be responsible for communicating with the management team and customers reporting any problems or delays, as well as keeping them up to date with general progress. The success of the Finishing Site Supervisor will be measured by adhering to the project plan as well as client approval and positive customer reviews.

Electrical Apprentice

 

As the Electrical Apprentice, you will be responsible for learning the Penguin Basements Limited’s electrical infrastructure under the direction of the Master and Journeyman Electricians. The Electrical Apprentice will be involved in helping with the installation of electrical wiring in residential buildings (specifically basements) by troubleshooting and repairing various equipment, installing various types of equipment and electrical services, focusing on the rough-in by ensuring the electrical meets the agreed to blueprint, while continuing to learn and progress through the organization.
